Arsenal have been handed a boost to sign PSV star Georginio Wijnaldum following the player issuing a ‘come and get me’ plea.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be looking to bolster his midfield options as they plan to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

The 24-year-old has now scored 12 goals for current club PSV this term but is looking to challenge himself at the highest level in England.

He told Sky Sports: “I am happy at PSV but I am a player with a lot of ambition. I want to play in a stronger league than the Eredivisie.

“With my quality I feel I can bring a lot to a team that I will join. I want to show it in the big leagues; England Italy, Spain, Germany or France.

“It depends on what I feel. When I feel I want to go, I will do it.”

Arsenal are currently second in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 66 points, one point ahead of Manchester United in third.
