AC Milan midfielder Nigel De Jong is edging closer to a summer move to Manchester United, Football Express News understands.
De Jong is looking likely to be switching clubs this summer when his contract with Italian side AC Milan expires, and United appear front of the queue to secure his services.
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal is reported to have requested his signature, and now reports in Italy suggest the midfielder, who is thought to want a £4m-a-year contract, has held talks with the club.
Negotiations are believed to be under way and Van Gaal will be sure to try and land the 30-year-old who he had previously worked with at his time being Netherlands manager.
United are currently on course to qualify for the Champions League next season after a superb run of form of late.
