    Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson is set to sign a new and improved contract at the club.

    Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is facing a tough task to keep hold of England duo Raheem Sterling and seemingly had a tough task to secure Jordan Henderson’s future at the club.

    Negotiations continue with Sterling, who is demanding over £100,000 per week to remain at Anfield, but it is understood that vice-captain and heir to Steven Gerrard’s throne, Henderson, will sign a new deal worth £100,000 per week.

    Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho had shown interest in the former Southampton midfielder after a string of solid performances this season.

    England international Henderson has been Liverpool‘s key player this season, standing in for Gerrard, who has suffered with injuries and suspension this year.
