Chelsea missed a glorious chance to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League with a 1-1 draw against Southampton on Sunday afternoon.
Jose Mourinho’s side approached the game with Ronald Koeman’s men in good spirits, despite losing to Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
The reason being because second place Manchester City had lost to Burnley just 24 hours before, giving them the chance to go eight points ahead.
However, Chelsea’s troubles continued after they blew a 1-0 lead to share the spoils on Sunday afternoon.
Diego Costa was back amongst the goals as he headed in for his first goal in seven games.
But the Blues lead didn’t last long as Nemanja Matic hauled down Mane inside the area to gift Dusan Tadic the perfect chance to slot home from the spot and he did just that to level the game.
The second half saw very little in terms of clear cut chances but Mane did manage to carve out an opener late on, however, Chelsea kept the visitors at bay and the scoreline remained 1-1.
