Arsenal have been given the green light to sign Palermo forward Paulo Dybala, Football Express News understands.

Gunners officials met with Palermo president Maurizio Zamperini last Friday and held positive talks, although Chelsea emerged as favourites to sign the Argentine forward over the weekend after the player himself cited a desire to talk with Stamford Bridge officials.

The Argentine youngster has been in superb form this season and has attracted interest from a number of top European clubs.

Dybala, who has been likened to Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero in recent weeks is fully expected to leave the Italian club this summer, with his relationship to president Zamperini having deteriorated.

It is expected that a deal worth £29.5m will be reached with the personal terms left to agree.
