Man United & Arsenal in pole position to sign Luis Suarez’s striker partner

Manchester United and Arsenal are in pole position to sign Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani, Football Express News understands.

The Uruguayan striker has been in superb scoring form for the French champions both last season and this campaign, but his time at the club has been dampened by off-field problems and a disliking to his role in the team under boss Laurent Blanc.

Cavani is said to be unhappy at playing out on the wing and second fiddle to Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, thus, linking him with a number of top European clubs.

Plus, another recent incident involving the former Napoli striker and Blanc which saw the goalscorer return home late from the winter break; has pushed his expected summer exit even closer to reality.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Juventus and Real Madrid have been credited with interest but it is understood that Man United and Arsenal are leading the race.

Cavani has discussed his preference of club in the past, claiming that he would love to play for Arsene Wenger in the future.
