Arsenal set to beat Manchester United and Chelsea to Marco Reus signing

Arsenal look set to fend off interest from Manchester United and Chelsea for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus, according to the Express.

The 25-year-old midfielder is one of the most sought after players in Europe and it is no surprise to see some of England’s biggest clubs after his signature.

Reus has a £20 million release clause that comes into effect at the end of the 2014/15 season, and this looks set to be activated by Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.

The Gunners have been renowned for making marquee signings in the past few seasons, having completed deals to sign world-class talents such as Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

It is believed that Reus has his heart set on a move to the Barclays Premier League, and it looks likely he very well could be plying his trade at the Emirates Stadium next season.

Reus has been at Dortmund since 2012 and has gone on to accumulate over 70 appearances for the German club, who currently sit rock bottom of the Bundesliga.
