Ferguson era coming to an end as Van Gaal prepares to sell

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is preparing to offer Darren Fletcher, Tom Cleverley and Anders Lindegaard an exit from Old Trafford.

All three players were signed during Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign in charge of the Red Devils, ending somewhat of an era under the now retired Scottish boss.

Fletcher, who returned to playing action last season after a spell out with illness is currently attracting the interest of West Bromwich Albion and could become the first player out of the aforementioned to leave.

Meanwhile, it is understood that goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard is prepared to wait until the summer to leave Old Trafford, despite being replaced as back-up to David de Gea by former BArcelona keeper Victor Valdes.

United boss Van Gaal is also keen to sell Tom Cleverley, currently on loan with Aston Villa and has set an £8m asking price in the former England international’s shoulders.
