Villa defender set to leave in January

Jores Okore has threatened to quit Aston Villa in January after failing to cement a first team place.

The Danish defender joined Villa last season but has not been selected by boss Paul Lambert this season after returning from a serious knee injury which saw his debut season cut short.

Four appearances later and Okore, who is currently on international duty with the Danish U21 side, has revealed that he may leave the club in January.

“I came to Villa to play and I am going to fight to make that happen,” he told Danish broadcaster TV2.

“At the same time I need to play, so I don’t want to exclude anything when it comes to the coming transfer window.”

Okore’s current deal remains until the end of the 2016-17 season.
