Tottenham Hotspur are in a position to make a solid bid for Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph in January.
Delph has been in superb form this season for Villa and recently gained a call-up to Roy Hodgson’s England side.
Interest in the former Leeds United man has since gained momentum with Spurs leading a long list of potential suitors from the Premier League.
The midfielder’s contract at Villa is set to expire at the end of the season and he rejected a new offer in recent weeks.
It is understood that the 24-year-old would be open to making the switch to White Hart Lane if Spurs are able to agree a fee with Villa.
