Guardiola to replace Wenger at Arsenal

Bayern Munich Pep Guardiola is set to take over from Arsene Wenger at Arsenal in 2016, according to Evening Standard.

The former Barcelona boss has been linked with a move to England in recent seasons and was expected to take over from Sir Alex Ferguson when the Scot retired from his role as boss of Manchester United two years ago.

However, the Catalan coach chose to pursue a spell with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, with whom he has been as successful as his Barcelona days, helping them win the title last season.

Guardiola has remained insistent that he will one day coach in England and according to Evening Standard, the former midfielder could be in line to take over at the Emirates stadium.

Current Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is set to leave the club in 2016 and call time on his long tenure, and the report claims that Guardiola will be ready to leave Bayern and take the reigns.
