Monk will not be charged over Moses ‘cheat’ claims

Swansea City manager Garry Monk will face no action despite calling Stoke City’s Victor Moses a ‘cheat’.

Monk accused the Nigerian international of diving to win a penalty in the 2-1 defeat to Stoke in the Premier League on October 19, a comment which left opposite coach Mark Hughes unhappy.

The Football Association have since received complaints and have been determining the extent and level of the Swansea coach’s comments, deciding not to charge the young manager.

“The FA has reminded the Swansea manager about his responsibilities regarding media comments,” read a statement on the club’s website.

Monk is expected to meet with referees’ chief Mike Riley on Friday to discuss several key issues which he believes have cost his side this season.
