Jan Vertonghen has hailed Tottenham hat-trick hero Harry Kane, comparing him to Cristiano Ronaldo,
The 21-year-old scored a superb hat-trick for Spurs as they beat Asteras Tripolis on Thursday night in the Europa League.
Kane’s tally in European action now this season stands at six goals in five games and his team-mate Jan Vertonghen has given him great praise by comparing him to Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Harry is an unbelievable player and now the fans are starting to see it, but me I can see it every day in training,” he told the club’s official webiste.
“I’m a defender, he’s a striker, I’ve trained against him so many times and he’s a very, very difficult striker to defend against.
“For me, with his attitude, he can be one of the best centre-forwards in the world one day. He has a spirit you can compare to [Cristiano] Ronaldo and he works every day.
“He’s a top professional, I love working with him and I hope one day he can make his debut maybe in the England squad, because I think he’s one of the best already.”
