Flamini: Arsenal should not blame injuries on poor form

Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has said that the growing number of injuries at the club cannot be used as an excuse for their poor form.

The likes of Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Mathieu Debuchy and David Ospina are all out injured and will miss the Premier League club’s trip to face Anderlecht on Wednesday night.

Arsene Wenger’s side have struggled so far this season for consistency and were held at home by Hull City on Saturday afternoon, calling for some fans of the club to blame injuries and poor fitness for their stumbling start.

However, Flamini believes that the club cannot blame their lack of form on those things.

“We’re having injuries but we don’t want to hide behind any excuses,” the Frenchman told The Guardian.

“We’re facing the truth – we didn’t win on Saturday and we’ll try to find a solution for the next games.”
