Manchester United are ready to tempt Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira into joining them over Arsenal and Chelsea with a huge contract offer.
The German midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to England in recent months with both Arsenal and Chelsea monitoring his current situation with the reigning European champions.
Khedira is free to leave Madrid next summer as his contract is due to expire, although some reports have claimed that both the aforementioned clubs could make a ‘cheap’ January move.
However, it is understood that Man United are now also in the race and are currently putting the finishing touches on a lucrative contract offer.
Reports in both English and Spanish press claim that Dutch boss Louis van Gaal has told United officials to offer the German World Cup winner a fee of around £5.5m per year.
Chelsea will be extremely keen to see if this offer is genuine as Blues boss Jose Mourinho remains keen on signing the midfielder after working alongside him during his time in charge of Madrid.
