Neville: Soft Man United were bullied by Leicester City

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville claims Louis van Gaal’s team are were bullied by Leicester City.

Van Gaal’s takeover at Man United has failed to live up-to expectations so far with the Old Trafford outfit managing just five points from their opening five Premier League games.

New signings Radamel Falcao, Ander Herrera and Angel di Maria played an important part in helping United gain a 3-1 lead over Leicester City on Sunday, but, poor defending and a struggle to maintain the hosts – saw the game turn on his head and end 5-3 to Nigel Pearson’s side.

And, that has led Gary Neville to discuss the various problems at his former club, calling them ‘soft centred’.

“There’s no doubt Manchester United are soft-centred,” he told Sky Sports. “They’re not tough enough.

“Going forward they’re a lot better than they have been in the last 12-18 months and that’s a positive.

“But in the first half, every ball that got played forward from distance, a Leicester player won it, whether it was the first ball or the second ball. In the second half, a decision goes against them but make no mistake about it they’re soft-centred.

“I thought the midfield three for United and the back four got bullied.”
