Bierhoff blasts Madrid over Khedira injury

Oliver Bierhoff has hit back at Real Madrid and accused them of failing to look after midfielder Sami Khedira and nurse his current injury.

Bierhoff now acts as a technical director of the German Football Association after a glittering playing career and he has sent a direct message to Real Madrid as the argument between the Germans and the Spanish giants rumbles on.

Los Blancos released a statement on Tuesday claiming that the former Stuttgart midfielder picked up his latest injury on international duty, but that has since been countered by coaches in Germany, who claim that Madrid have over worked him.

“The player already had problem when he travelled to Germany,” the 46-year-old former striker told Bild.

“And what’s more, he had already been examined by doctors in Madrid. They didn’t consider it to be a serious injury!

“After that, Khedira decided to consult a reliable doctor here [and he] diagnosed a muscle tear.”

Khedira, is now expected to be out of action for between six and eight weeks.
