Crystal Palace appoint Neil Warnock

Crystal Palace have confirmed the appointment of Neil Warnock as the club’s new manager.

Following the departure of Tony Pulis from Selhurst Park just days before the new Premier League season, veteran boss Neil Warnock has now been appointed as his replacement.

Warnock who had been in charge of Leeds United until last year, spent three seasons with Palace between 2007 and 2010 before then moving to Queens Park Rangers.

Palace officials had been close to appointing Tim Sherwood as boss but failure in negotiations saw them turn their attention to the former Sheffield United man.

Both Steve Clarke and Warnock had been strongly linked this week with both arriving at the London club for an interview, and it was the latter who has been confirmed as the new boss.
