Everton eye Amalfitano signing

Everton are considering a move for Marseille attacking midfielder Morgan Amalfitano, according to Goal.com.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez will be without England midfielder Ross Barkley for the opening six weeks at a minimum after he injured ligaments in training last week and that has seen the Spanish boss take to the transfer market to look at a potential short-term replacement.

And, according to a report on Goal.com, former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Morgan Amalfitano is at the top of that wishlist.

Amalfitano, 29, has been looking to leave his current club Marseille for sometime but failed to seal a permanent move to WBA after playing for the Baggies last season on loan.

West Ham United, QPR and Hull City are also showing interest, but the report goes on to add that Everton would be his preferred destination.
