Leicester City hold Everton, Hull City beat QPR

Premier League new boys Leicester City held Everton to a 2-2 draw, whilst Hull City beat Queens Park Rangers away from home.

Roberto Martinez’s Everton side made a good start in their game against new boys Leicester City and they took an early lead through the impressive Aiden McGeady, who picked out the top corner with a superb curling effort.

However, the Toffees would hold the lead for just two minutes after Leonardo Ulloa topped his first ever Premier League game off with a goal.

Both sides looked comfortable with the scoreline but it was Everton who headed into the break with the lead after Steven Pienaar found Steven Naismith, who hit a fierce shot in off the crossbar.

The home side pushed for an equaliser in the second half and they got it through Chris Wood with just 10 minutes remaining.

Meanwhile, in London, QPR boss Harry Redknapp handed Loic Remy a start despite the French striker being heavily linked with a move away from the club.

His inclusion saw the Londoners fail to get a result against Steve Bruce’s Hull City, who gave a good account of themselves on opening day.

The winning goal came through James Chester lost his marker Rio Ferdinand and headed into the net.

The home side were given a late chance to save a draw but Charlie Austin saw his penalty saved by Allan McGregor.
