Everton reject £32m bid for Ross Barkley

Football Express News understands that Everton have rejected a £32m bid from Manchester City for Ross Barkley.

The young England international gained heavy plaudits for his displays at both club level and international level last season, attracting the interest of a number of top European clubs.

Premier League champions Manchester City have been at the very forefront of those interested clubs and it is understood that a fresh bid of £32m was submitted late on Monday evening.

Everton, who have stated their desperation to hold on to Barkley and not allow him to leave like they did – Jack Rodwell, who left Goodison Park for City.

Therefore, it is understood that Everton officials have strongly rejected the bid, informing City that Barkley is not for sale at any price in the meantime.

Barkley flourished under Spanish boss Roberto Martinez last season and became an important part of the senior side, contributing with seven goals.

Whilst, rumours continue to surface that City will return with a fresh offer that could include Rodwell returning to Goodison Park, it seems Martinez and Everton have ended all doubt Barkley will leave this summer.
