Football Express News understands that Liverpool have submitted a second bid for Swansea City left-back Ben Davies.

The Welsh international has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs this summer, including Tottenham Hotspur but it is Liverpool who are leading the chase for the talented youngster.

The Reds have been interested in Sevilla’s Alberto Moreno but stalls in any deal for the Spanish international have seen boss Brendan Rodgers move their interest towards Davies.

Davies made his debut for the Swans in 2012 and has since gone on to make 84 appearances over two seasons.

Liverpool, who made an initial £8m bid for the full-back have now gone back to Swansea City with a new and improved offer, closer to the £12m asking price, which discouraged Spurs from making a serious offer.

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers has sealed a deal for Benfica’s Lazar Markovic and hopes to complete a move for Dejan Lovren of Southampton in the coming weeks.
