Former Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin has completed his permanent return to Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid.

The Turkish midfielder began his career with Dortmund back in 2005 after spending time with their youth teams, but a lucrative move to Real Madrid in 2011 deemed to hard to resist and he ended his 10-year spell with the Bundesliga club.

Arrival in Spain saw Sahin suffer several injury problems and he made just 10 appearances for the Spanish capital side during the 2011/2012 season, prompting his loan spell to English club Liverpool.

However, he failed to impress at Anfield, making just 12 appearances, before returning to Spain to discuss his future.

A subsequent loan back to Dortmund was followed by another, before the Bundesliga side agreed terms with Madrid to make the move permanent and end his difficult time away from the club.

Sahin made 47 appearances under Jurgen Klopp last season.
