Chelsea have cash-plus-player bid rejected for Griezmann

Chelsea have had a cash plus player bid for Antoine Griezmann rejected by Atletico Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

It is believed that the French international is wanted by Jose Mourinho as part of his plans to build a Champions League winning side this summer.

Griezmann was in superb form last season for Atletico Madrid following his £24m switch from Real Sociedad, scoring over 20 goals in all competitions.

The French international is thought to have a £43m release clause in his current deal at the Vicente Calderon and it now seems that Chelsea are fully prepared to make a summer move.

However, a latest bid of cash plus either Brazilian defender Filipe Luis or Egyptian Mohamed Salah has been rejected by the Spanish giants.

Juventus, Inter Milan and Roma have been interested, but Atletico are keen to sign him for next season.
