Chelsea to submit £15m Rahman bid

Chelsea are set to make their move for Augsburg’s £15 million-rated left-back Abdul Baba Rahman, according to Daily Mirror.

Baba, 20, has been in impressive form after starring for Augsburg in the Bundesliga campaign.

Interest from a number of European sides has since become known and Bild have reported that both Chelsea and Man United are keen to pursue a potential summer move.

Chelsea are said to have submitted a £15m bid for the youngster, however, further claims of European interest are being made.

Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke have also been linked, whilst reports in Spain claim that Real Madrid have a pre-contract agreement with the Bundesliga club as they hope for him to replace Fabio Coentrao.

Baba’s representative Sascha Empacher denied the speculation earlier this year about a summer move, saying: “The fact that Baba has been linked with Real Madrid is, of course, a great honour. His achievements have brought him to the attention of the world’s best clubs. But we do not negotiate with Real.”

He made 19 appearances last season for Augsburg and has netted four goals.
