Arsenal have rejected an audacious bid from Chelsea for midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to The Mirror.

Gunners officials are trying to tie up a summer deal for Chelsea keeper Petr Cech but attempts from the Premier League champions to include a player in the move has failed.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is desperate to avoid Cech joining one of the Blues’ English rivals but is resigned to losing him this summer after he lost his place to Thibaut Courtois last season.

Whilst attempts to include a player in a deal for Cech has failed thus far, Mourinho is still keen on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The English attacker started just 17 games last season after problems with injuries and the former of Alexis Sanchez and return of Theo Walcott.

And, that lack of playing time has seen Chelsea consider a £20m summer bid, which according to reports was rejected by Arsenal.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is seen as one of Arsene Wenger’s ‘players for the future’ and the Gunners are unwilling to allow him to leave.

Cech, meanwhile, is valued at £10m by Chelsea.
