Roma and Everton are in a two-horse race to sign Manchester United winger Nani, Football Express News understands.

The Portuguese international was in superb form for Sporting Lisbon last season, enjoying his loan spell from United, scoring six goals in 25 Liga Sagres games.

His performances in the Portuguese league had been impressing a number of top European clubs, with United themselves keen to give the winger another chance at Old Trafford.

A January return to United failed to go through but it is likely he will return in the summer, however, Everton boss Roberto Martinez is keen to explore the possibility of a loan move, forcing United boss Louis van Gaal to make a quick decision on the 28-year-old.

But, Martinez is not the only manager interested as Rudi Garcia of Roma made contact with United over his availability.

Some reports claim that Nani would be available for around £15m on a permanent move, but both Everton and Roma are keen for a loan deal.
