Arsenal losing out to AC Milan in French midfielder race

AC Milan are set to beat Arsenal to Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to TalkSport.

Various claims in Italian press say that Milan CEO Adriano Galliani will fly into Monaco this week to discuss terms over a summer deal.

Those reports come after Arsenal failed to secure a move, seeing their latest transfer offer rejected by the Ligue 1 side.

Since bursting on the scene for Spanish side Sevilla, Kondogbia has become one of the most promising footballers in Europe and has further impressed in Ligue 1 with Monaco.

The box-t0-box midfielder was one of Monaco’s most frequent players this season,featuring 23 times for Leonardo Jardim’s side.

But with his consistency and form has come many interested sides, including the Gunners,who have indicated the midfielder as a possible summer signing.

Arsene Wenger is said to be a big fan of the French international and has likened him to former Gunners star Patrick Vieira.
