Arsenal and Liverpool are eyeing a move for Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio, according to TalkSport.
Having performed at a consistently high level for Juventus last season, helping them reach the Champions League final – Marchisio has attracted interest from a number of Premier League sides.
Manchester United have been strongly linked in recent seasons with a move for the Italy international but it now appears that Arsenal and Liverpool will go head-to-head in a summer race.
Marchisio will see his current deal expire next summer and it is understood that Juve chiefs are mulling over a cheap sale this summer so they don’t lose out like they are set to with Andrea Pirlo this time round.
Arsenal are keen to find a suitable midfielder, after seemingly missing out on Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin, whilst Liverpool are in desperate need to replace Steven Gerrard after he left for LA Galaxy.
