Chelsea defender rejects Liverpool for Bundesliga move

Chelsea will loan highly-rated Danish centre-back Andreas Christensen to Borussia Monchengladbach for the entirety of next season, according to London 24.

According to The Sun, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was keen to take advantage of Chelsea‘s lack of contract negotiations with young defender Christensen.

The Reds have struggled this season at the back, and the Northern Irish boss is keen to improve his options but there move has not been scuppered by Chelsea’s plans.

The 19-year-old Dane joined Chelsea from Brondby in 2012, but has one year left on his current deal, having rejected a latest one-year extension.

A loan deal is now expected and it is understood that Borussia Monchengladbach are close to a deal for the Danish U21 international.
