Man United midfielder to sign five-year Everton deal

Manchester United midfielder will reject Aston Villa to move to Everton this summer on a five-year deal, according to Daily Mirror.

The 25-year-old former England international is out of contract at the end of the season and Everton boss Roberto Martinez is ready to make a swoop for the midfielder.

Cleverley who is currently on loan with Aston Villa was expected to remain at Villa Park after his loan spell ended but the Midlands club are yet to agree a permanent option.

Merseyside club Everton are favourites to complete the deal though, as Cleverley has afond experience of working alongside Martinez, having been loaned to Wigan Athletic during the 2010-2011 season.

Reports have now emerged that a five-year deal is set to be agreed.

Martinez managed to sign one new player in January having completed a deal for Aaron Lennon from Tottenham Hotspur but continuing injury problems to both Leon Osman and Steven Pienaar are causing him concern in the middle of the park.
