The Independant are reporting that Danny Ings is set to have talks with Liverpool about a move this summer after rejecting latest contract offer from Burnley.

The 22-year-old has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool but appears to have Anfield as his preferred destination.

The former submitted a £12m bid last week in a bid to grab him from the likes of Liverpool, who have been extremely interested.

Ings has impressed in the Premier League this season, despite seeing his side relegated to the Championship.

The English striker is out of contract at the end of June, however, as he is under 24, his current club would be entitled to compensation, set to be decided by the Professional Football Compensation Committee.

Some reports claim that the Reds are looking to pay a fee of £4m, a figure near the record compensation package in England which saw Daniel Sturridge leave Manchester City for Chelsea in 2010 for a fee of £6.5m.

Writers View – Danny Ings is a clever player, who can play a couple of different positions for Liverpool. Dependent on compensation paid, could be a decent signing.
