Chelsea defender set to join Liverpool in £6m move

Liverpool have tabled a £6m bid for Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen, who looks likely to be sold after stalling on a new deal with the Premier League champions.

According to The Sun, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to take advantage of Chelsea‘s lack of contract negotiations with young defender Christensen.

The Reds have struggled this season at the back, and the Northern Irish boss is keen to improve his options.

The report claim that Liverpool are chasing the teenager, who is rated highly by Jose Mourinho, despite making only two senior appearances.

The 19-year-old Dane joined Chelsea from Brondby in 2012, but has one year left on his current deal, having rejected a latest one-year extension.

Manchester City are also credited with an interest in the Denmark Under-21 international, whilst German side Borussia Monchengladbach are also showing increased interest.
