Man United in talks to complete Hummels deal

Manchester United are set to announce the signing of Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, Football Express News understands.

Reports in January claimed that the German World Cup winner had agreed a deal with United ahead of a summer move but those reports seemed to disappear in March after the player himself silenced rumours to concentrate on the current season with Dortmund.

However, it is now understood that United have reinstated those talks and that Hummels has penned a deal, although confirmation of the deal is to wait until the current season finishes.

Dortmund will see current boss Jurgen Klopp leave the club this summer and it is expected that a whole host of players will follow suit.

Ilkay Gundogan has been linked with a move to Old Trafford and could follow Hummels, who will cost United a fee of around £37m.

Louis van Gaal’s side confirmed Champions League qualification at the weekend and sit fourth in the Premier League on 68 points.
