Stoke City are heading interest for Nedum Onuoha following QPR’s relegation from the Premier League, reports the Sunday Mirror.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes was informed that a number of Premier League and Championship clubs were interested in the former England U21 after Queens Park Rangers were relegated on Sunday afternoon.

Hughes has been linked with the 28-year-old defender in the past and has since reignited his interest as he looks to bolster his defensive options ready for a Europa League challenge next season.

Reports across England have also claimed that Crystal Palace and Hull City are also interested but it is understood that the former Man City man would welcome a reunion with his former boss.

The pair linked up when Hughes was in charge of QPR when Onuoha signed in 2012, believes that he can win the race this summer and tentative transfer talks are said to have already begun.
