Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola is considering a summer bid for Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale, according to reports.

The Welsh international, who completed a record £85m move to Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, has been linked with a summer return to England with Manchester United being heavily linked.

Chelsea have also been interested as Bale’s time at Real Madrid looks to be coming to an end after receiving whistles and jeers from disgruntled fans this season.

Bale has had a hit and miss year with Madrid, having been criticised for a number of performances by the club’s fans, although he returned on Saturday evening after injury to setup Cristiano Ronaldo’s winner against Sevilla.

Youth coach Zinedine Zidane had commented earlier this month that Madrid would not sell Bale, but after sitting down as a group to discuss next season’s plans; it is now understood that Bale could be sold to fund the moves for other transfer targets.

And, Bayern boss Guardiola is said to be keen on luring the winger to the Bundesliga.

The former Barcelona boss is keen to mix things up next season and bring some fresh faces into the Allianz Arena and believes Bale is the perfect long term replacement for the likes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.
