Eden Hazard’s goal saw Chelsea beat Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening to edge closer to the Premier League title.

It was the visitors who started the better with both Ander Herrera and Paddy McNair, recalled to the side, shooting from distance.

Cesc Fabregas was trying to change the pattern of the early goings and he found himself in a good position early on by Marouane Fellaini was on hand to mop out the danger for United.

United’s dominance though would prove their downfall after failing to break the deadlock when Eden Hazard finished off a good Chelsea move.

The move began with captain John Terry taking the ball from Radamel Falcao, before playing in Fabregas, who in turn found Brazilian midfielder Oscar, whose delightful back-heel found the PFA Player of the Year nominee to send his effort past David De Gea.

The second half in truth was a slightly less than open period with Luke Shaw and Angel Di Maria having the best chances for Van Gaal’s side.

The latter came close late on with a long range effort, but there was little United could do to break down the league leaders.

Ander Herrera went down in the box late on but referee Mike Dean was on hand to wave away penalty appeals and the game ended with Chelsea now just two wins away from the Premier League title.
