Liverpool have joined the race alongside Tottenham Hotspur to sign Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca.

It has been reported that Liverpool are monitoring the Colombia international, and is thought to be priced of a fee in the region of £18m.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will be looking to bolster his attacking options going into next season as Rickie Lambert, Fabio Borini and Mario Balotelli have been struggling while star striker Daniel Sturridge has suffered from injuries all season.

But, he will be facing competition to land the 28-year-old’s signature as Spurs are also keen, with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino known to be a huge admirer of the striker and will look to replace Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor at the top of the pitch.

Liverpool are currently fifth in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 57 points, with Tottenham in seventh on 54 points.
