Everton are reported to be targeting a permanent deal for Belgian youngster David Henen.

Henen arrived at Everton last summer on a season-long loan from Greek side Olympiakos.

And according to reports from Belgian football journalist Sven Claes, Toffees boss Roberto Martinez is looking to make the deal a permanent one, with the 18-year-old having impressed for Everton’s Under-21 side this season.

“Everton ponder permanent move for Olympiakos-loanee David Henen. Belgian attacker (18) scored 9 goals in 17 matches for EFCU21,” Claes wrote on Twitter this morning.

The youngster only arrived at Olympiakos from former club Anderlecht at the start of the term, despite spending all of last summer training at Everton, before returning to Goodison Park on loan.

Everton are currently twelfth in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 38 points, four points behind Crystal Palace in eleventh.
