Chelsea are lining up a summer move for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, according to various reports in Spain and England.
The German World Cup winner is out of contract this summer and is available on a free transfer, prompting the likes of Arsenal and Schalke to show interest.
However, despite solid links to the aforementioned duo; a deal is yet to be agreed, and it is understood that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has called the Real Madrid midfielder to discuss a potential move to Stamford Bridge.
Khedira and Mourinho are no strangers, having worked together at the Spanish club during the latter’s time as coach.
Khedira is looking for a £100,000-a-week contract at his next club, and it is believed that Chelsea would be happy to pay that amount.
