Chelsea scouts are in attendance as Wolfsburg and Inter Milan face off in the Europa League this evening, taking a closer look at number one target Mauro Icardi.

Following the defeat to Paris Saint Germain on away goals in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, Blues boss Jose Mourinho has instructed a number of his highest recognised scouts to cast a decision on Italian striker Icardi.

The 22-year-old striker has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this season with Blues boss Jose Mourinho a keen admirer of the Argentine goalscorer.

A whole host of other clubs have also been interested but Mourinho has monitored his contract situation at Italian side Inter Milan since the turn of the year.

Icardi has a current deal with Inter that expires in 2018 but the San Siro outfit are hopeful of extending his deal and increasing his wages.

However, the former Barcelona striker has admitted briefly that he is unaware of a deal.

“I don’t know about my renewal. There are still a lot of things that need to be sorted,” Icardi told reporters.

Former Blues players Andre Schurrle and Kevin de Bruyne started the match for Wolfsburg.
