Winston Reid is edging closer to agreeing a new contract with West Ham United, according to various reports.
The central defender has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal as Gunners boss Arsene Wenger continues his search for extra defensive cover, whilst North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest.
Reid has been long in talks with West Ham over a new contract as his current deal is due to expire at the end of the season.
Reports in English press had claimed that the central defender was reluctant to sign a new deal at Upton Park and force through a move to either Arsenal or Spurs, but it is now understood the New Zealand-er is close to a new contract.
Reid joined West Ham from Danish side FC Midtjylland in 2010.
