Everton are ready to make a £20m summer bid for Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic, according to Novosti Sporske.
The 20-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to a number of European clubs in recent times with Liverpool and Manchester United linked from the Premier League.
The latter had been monitoring the situation of the attacking midfielder for some-time after his role in the Inter side became questioned last season, but it is now being reported that Everton have joined the race and have gone as far to prepare a summer bid of £20m.
Backed by the club’s fans to remain at the club, Kovacic’s international team-mate Darjo Srna reacted in a different manner last December, calling on the Croatian to leave Serie A.
“Mateo is one of the best young players in Serie A, but, if he wants to progress, he must go to another club. Inter are far from their glory days,” Srna said.
