Monaco striker Dimitar Berbatov has claimed that his side deserved to beat Arsenal 3-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Ligue 1 side stunned Arsene Wenger’s side at the Emirates stadium on Wednesday evening thanks to goals from Geoffrey Kondogbia, Ferreira Carrasco and former Tottenham Hotspur striker Berbatov.
And, the Bulgarian striker told Sky Sports News that he was pleased with the win and that his side fully deserved the victory.
“We are confident in our ability so honestly we deserved to win. We scored our chances and in the end it’s a great win for us. It’s not over, we have one more game in Monaco and Arsenal are a great team.”
Berbatov said that his side had a greater desire than the Gunners and hinted that Arsenal did not take them seriously enough.
“We are good and Arsenal is a good team, but today probably we wanted the win more than them,” he added. “We fought all over the pitch, won our challenges and scored the goals.
“In a team like Arsenal I don’t think they can allow themselves to underestimate our team today but if they did then it’s up to them.”
